Program setup
The getting started checklist, the program settings tabs, groups and tags, and customer auto-enrolment.
A new program is usable the moment signup finishes, but six steps take it from usable to yours. The dashboard tracks them on Getting started; nothing is locked behind them and they can go in any order.
- Make the portal yours. Logo and colours, edited with a live preview. Your partners see this page, not ours.
- Connect Stripe. Read-only access: we see checkouts and invoices to attribute sales, and we structurally cannot touch your money.
- Put the tag on your site and check it. One script tag, then the install check proves it works. See Attribution and tracking.
- Invite your team. Colleagues get their own sign-in under Settings, Team.
- Invite your first partner. Or add yourself first and feel the partner side.
- Put the portal on your own domain (optional).
affiliates.yourdomain.cominstead of the default address. See Links and domains.
Completion is read from live data, so a step done through the API or the settings pages ticks itself off.
Program settings
Program settings holds eight tabs. The ones that shape money and tracking:
General
Program name, business name, website, and the portal branding (logo URL and three colours). The currency is fixed once the program has money in it. This tab also carries your program terms: a URL and a version label. Partners accept them at signup, and we record when and which version, so your terms are actually enforceable.
Attribution
The cookie window (default 60 days; first touch wins within it), your link parameters (default ref, so links read yoursite.com/?ref=handle), an optional program-wide coupon code, and two portal switches: whether partners can create custom links, and whether links show in the portal at all (coupon-only programs hide them). Parameters used by other affiliate platforms are always captured on top of yours, so links published before you migrated keep converting.
Commissions
The defaults every flow inherits:
- Commission on revenue net of tax (on by default). Tax you collect and pass on is excluded before the rate applies.
- Holding period (14 days by default). Commissions wait this long before becoming payable: your refund-window buffer.
- Minimum payout (20.00 by default, in your currency). Balances below it roll into the next cycle; partners can be overridden individually.
- Payout term: NET-15, NET-30 or NET-60. How long after a period closes its payouts go out.
Safeguards, Custom fields, Domains, Groups, Tags
Each has its own guide: Safeguards and risk, the application form, Links and domains, and groups and tags below.
Groups and tags
The two axes are deliberately different jobs.
A group is a tier of partner with its own commission terms: "agencies get 30%, everyone else 20%". Each group carries a commission headline shown on its portal login page, a landing URL, an optional manual-review rule, and its own signup link (/join/its-slug on your portal). Send that link to the people you want in the tier and they land in it on their own, with its flows and its review rule, so you never sort partners by hand.
Tags are labels you stick on partners so you can find them again: "YouTube", "agency", "met at a conference". Filter the partner list by tag, or send a campaign to everyone carrying one. A tag never changes what a partner earns, but unlike a label that only filters, tags here can scope a flow, a campaign, a notification and a resource.
Enrolling paying customers as partners
Under Program settings, General, the Enrol paying customers as partners panel turns happy customers into referrers automatically. When it is on, a customer's first payment also creates them as a partner, no application, with a link ready to share. They land in their own group (named "Customers" by default) so they never share a rate or a leaderboard with your professional affiliates. Turning it off enrols nobody further and removes nobody. Available on every tier.
