Your plan and billing

Everything about what you pay us lives in Settings, Billing. Changing plan, updating your card, downloading invoices and cancelling all happen there. Picking a plan sends you to Stripe's own checkout page and straight back to your billing page when it is done, so your card details never touch our servers.

This page is about your subscription to AffiliateRail. What your affiliates get paid is a different thing entirely, and it is covered in Payouts.

The trial

Fourteen days, no card. Everything you set up during the trial stays when the trial ends, including your program, your partners, their links and every commission they have earned. What stops is adding more: approving new partners and creating new flows wait until you pick a plan. Tracking never stops.

Monthly or yearly

Every plan is sold both ways and the choice sits at the top of the plan table. Monthly is preselected, including at the moment you pick your first plan, so nobody has to buy a month to get started and switch later.

A year costs ten months. Grow at the founding price is $59 a month or $590 a year, which works out at $49 a month, so two months are free. The card shows the money rather than a percentage.

Your revenue band does not change with the interval. A yearly Grow subscription has the same $20,000 a month band as a monthly one. The band measures what your affiliates earn you, not how often you pay us.

Changing plan

Pick the plan you want and confirm. We show what is due today and what recurs before anything is charged.

• Moving up, or moving between plans on the same interval, takes effect straight away. Stripe prorates: you are charged the difference for the rest of the period, not a full new price.
• Moving from monthly to yearly takes effect straight away too, with the unused part of the month credited against the year.
• Moving from yearly to monthly takes effect on your renewal date. The year you have already paid for runs to the end, and the monthly price starts when it does. Your plan page shows the date. Nothing is refunded because nothing is cut short.

Picking a plan during the trial

Your plan starts the day you pick it. The card is charged then, your billing month runs from then, and the trial ends there: any days left on it are given up on purpose, not kept in reserve. This is the same on monthly and yearly.

Nothing pushes you to buy early. The trial runs its fourteen days on its own if you leave it alone, and no card is needed until you choose one. If you do pick a plan and then change your mind, you have 30 days from the first payment to ask for all of it back.

VAT and tax

Tax is calculated by Stripe at checkout from where you are. We ask for a billing address for that reason: without a country there is no rate to apply.

• A business in the EU with a VAT number that validates against VIES is reverse-charged. You account for the VAT in your own return.
• Anyone in the EU without a validated VAT number is charged VAT at their local rate. That includes businesses: under EU rules a buyer whose number cannot be validated is treated as a consumer, so we cannot reverse-charge you on the strength of a number that does not check out.
• UK customers are charged no VAT.
• The US and the rest of the world pay no VAT: this is an export of digital services.

Add or change your VAT number at checkout, or through Manage in Stripe afterwards. Validation happens against VIES while you are on the page, and it decides which of the two treatments above you get.

Your invoices carry the treatment that was applied and are downloadable from the billing page.

Your card

The billing page shows the brand and the last four digits of the card that the next invoice will be charged to, and Update card replaces it. The new card becomes the default for both the customer record and the subscription, so the next renewal uses it.

If a payment fails, the billing page says so, with the amount, the date and one button that opens the card form. Your plan stays on and your program keeps running while the card is retried over the following days. Updating the card is the quickest way to end it.

Invoices

Every invoice is listed with its date, amount and status, and links to the hosted PDF. They are yours to download at any time.

Cancelling

Cancel my plan, on the billing page. What happens:

• Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and stops there.
• Your program keeps tracking clicks and sales the whole time.
• Your partners keep their links, and those links keep working.
• Commissions carry on building, and what you owe your partners stays owed.
• Nothing is deleted. Pick a plan again whenever you like and everything is where you left it.

We ask why you are leaving. Both the list and the box are optional and neither one holds up the cancellation.

Changed your mind before the period ends? Keep my plan puts it back exactly as it was.

Manage in Stripe

There is still a quiet link to Stripe's own billing page, for the few things that live there: an old invoice, a tax ID you need to correct, a payment dispute. Everything on this page happens without it.
